Network Disruption Pauses City of Birmingham Services

A disruption of the city’s computer network has paused certain services both online and in person. Transactions involving licensing, taxing and permitting are currently unavailable while the city’s Information Management Services works to resolve the issue.
The network disruption will not affect any public safety services involving police, fire or 911. Public works services such as household garbage and bulk trash pickup will not be interrupted. However, the 311 call center is currently down. People who use the My Bham 311 app may still report issues but there will be a delay in relaying those requests until the network is restored.
Individuals seeking certain services should check the city’s social media channels and news reports for updates as to when the network is restored. We regret any inconvenience.
