Mission

To serve the citizens of Birmingham by developing and implementing effective public education and community involvement programs which enhance the quality of life in beautification and environmental concerns.

Objective

To effect positive change in attitude and behavior regarding natural conservation, littering, recycling and beautification.

Neighborhood Cleanups

Need help fighting litter in your community? Organize a neighborhood cleanup with the support of Keep Birmingham Beautiful and the Department of Public Works.  We provide the following supplies to assist you with your cleanup efforts.

Litter Grabbers • Safety Vests • Gloves • Trash Bags 

All supplies are provided upon availability with advance notice.

Pickup: Thursday & Friday, 10am to 12 Noon 

Return: Monday – Wednesday  10am to  12 Noon

 

Request supplies for your event at  KBB@birminghamal.gov  (Please include supplies in subject)

KBB Board of Directors

Formerly the Birmingham Beautification Board, Keep Birmingham Beautiful (KBB) is an affiliate of Keep America Beautiful (KAB). KBB became an official KAB Affiliate in 1989. KBB a division of the Watershed Management Division of the Department of Planning, Engineering and Permits of the City of Birmingham and is supported by several local and national sponsors.

The 15 KBB board members are appointed by the Mayor, and includes representatives from the Birmingham Schools, Alabama Power, ALAGASCO, NUCOR, ACIPCO, Birmingham Business Alliance, Alabama Extension Services, Alabama Environmental Council, Regions Bank, and local media. KBB meets monthly, on the 3rd Wednesday, beginning at 10 a.m.

The board develops and implement programs by building partnerships with schools, businesses, neighborhood associations, civic groups, youth organizations and government agencies.
