Eat in the Streets will continue into the fall

BIRMINGHAM, ALABAMA — Aug. 5, 2021 —  One year after launching in July 2020, Eat in the Streets remains in demand in Birmingham as it continues to let patrons support local eateries while socially distancing outdoors. Several Eat in the Streets events are planned for August in Birmingham. Other fall dates will be announced later.

Avondale – Friday, Aug. 6 and Saturday, Aug. 7

Forty-First Street South will be closed between First Avenue South and Third Avenue South. Hours for Eat in the Streets will be Friday, Aug. 6 from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m. and Saturday, Aug. 7 from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m.

Participating restaurants will include: Avondale Brewing Co., Avondale Burger Co., Luna, 41st St Pub, Melt, Spring Street Grill, Avondale Common House, Cookie Dough Magic, Saw’s Soul Kitchen and Post Office Pies.

Pizitz – Saturday, Aug. 14

Patrons can buy food at restaurants inside the Pizitz Food Hall and dine outdoors or check out Art Crawl on Saturday, Aug. 14 from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. on 19th Street North between First Avenue North and Second Avenue North.

Pepper Place – Friday, Aug. 20

It will be held from 5 to 9 p.m., on 29th Street South between Second  Avenue South and Third Avenue South.

Participating restaurants will include Jeni’s Ice Cream, BluePrint on 3rd, Bettola, Hot and Hot, Lumbar, Red Cat, Blueroot and Ovenbird.

Downtown Birmingham – Friday, Aug. 27 and Saturday, Aug. 28

The culinary fun will be held on Friday, Aug. 27 from 5 to 10 p.m. and on Saturday, Aug. 28 from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. on 20th Street North between First Avenue North and Third Avenue North. Participating restaurants will include: ZaZa, Paramount, Chocolata, Café DuPont, Helen, Bistro 218, Brick & Tin, and Elyton Hotel’s Moonshine and The Yard.
