Eat in the Streets will have a Halloween theme in Avondale on Oct. 30 and 31

BIRMINGHAM, ALABAMA — Oct. 30, 2020 —  Eat in the Streets will have a Halloween theme this Friday and Saturday as it moves to Avondale and offers a long block party known as Peaches and Scream.

Eat in the Streets allows consumers to social distance while dining outdoors. Forty-First Street South will be closed between First Avenue South and Fifth Avenue South. Hours for Eat in the Streets will be Friday, Oct. 30 from 5 p.m. to 11 p.m. and Saturday, Oct. 31 from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m.

On Saturday, there will be a Halloween costume contest, starting around 4 p.m. for children near the Melt restaurant. An adult costume contest will be held near Avondale Brewing during the Alabama halftime game. The game will start at 6 p.m. Avondale Brewing will show the game on two big screen TVs. There will also be pet category for the Halloween contest.

Avondale Brewing will closed on Friday for a sold concert, but will be open on Saturday for Peaches and Scream. Businesses will pass out candy to children on Friday and Saturday.

Participating restaurants will include: Avondale Brewing Co., Avondale Burger Company Luna, 41st St Pub, Fancy’s on Fifth, Melt, Spring Street Grill, Avondale Common House, Cookie Dough Magic, Saw’s Soul Kitchen and Post Office Pies.
