Alabama Law Enforcement Torch Run

Homicide Investigation

The Birmingham Police Department reports today that detectives are investigating a homicide. The incident occurred Sunday, March 20, 2011, at approximately 11:45 p.m. at 1525 Fulton Avenue Southwest.

The victim has been identified as: Franklin Little, B/M, 36, of 1525 Fulton Avenue Southwest, Birmingham, Alabama.

Officers from the West Precinct responded to the incident location on a report of a male shot in the alley. Upon arrival, officers discovered the victim, lying in the alley behind the residence, suffering from an apparent gunshot wound. The victim’s mother also received a gunshot wound to the arm during the shooting.

Birmingham Fire and Rescue arrived at the scene and transported both victims to U.A.B. for treatment. Hospital staff later pronounced Franklin Little dead. The victim’s mother is receiving treatment and is expected to recover from her injury.
