Unlawful Breaking and Entering a Vehicle Arrest

The Birmingham Police Department reports that a suspect has been taken into custody in connection with an unlawful breaking and entering of a vehicle investigation. The suspect was arrested on Friday, January 28, 2011.

Birmingham Police Department South Precinct Task Force members arrested the suspect following an investigation into car beak-ins in parking decks on the Southside. Officers used surveillance video that captured the crime. The video helped identify the suspect and his vehicle. The suspect was arrested without incident at his home.

The suspect has been identified as:  Richard Eugene Lacey, B/M, 68, of Birmingham, Alabama. An Unlawful Breaking and Entering a Vehicle warrant with a $15,000.00 bond has been obtained against the suspect. The suspect is in the custody of the Jefferson County Jail.

A photo of the first suspect may be obtained at the B.P.D. Headquarters, located at 1710 1st Avenue North.
