Alabama Law Enforcement Torch Run

Vice/Narcotics Operation

The Birmingham Police Department reports that detectives have arrested and charged suspects in connection with a vice and narcotics operation. The operation targeted areas of 1st Avenue North to address reports from officers and citizens of suspects soliciting for prostitution.

The following arrests were made:

  • 2 arrest for Unlawful Possession of Controlled Substances
  • 1 Arrest for Unlawful Possession of Controlled Substances and Soliciting for Prostitution.
  • 1 Arrest for Unlawful Possession of Marijuana and Soliciting for Prostitution.
  • 4 Arrests for Soliciting for Prostitution.
  • 1 Arrest for Loitering for Prostitution.
  • 1 Arrest in the Arrington Community for Soliciting for Prostitution.

As detectives took their dinner break in the 9400 block of Parkway East they heard a female scream and observed a subject running with a purse. Detectives apprehended the subject and found that he had just robbed the female. Detectives located the female who stated the suspect entered her vehicle and grabbed her purse. The suspect pushed the victim to the ground after they struggled for the purse.

The suspect has been identified as: Alan Buckley, W/M, 19, of Leeds, Alabama. Robbery and Unlawful Breaking and Entering a Vehicle Warrants with bonds totaling $30,000.00 have been obtained against the suspect.

The suspect is in the custody of the Jefferson County Jail.
