CURRENT BIDDING OPPORTUNITIES

Please refer to the listing below for information and electronic versions of bid documents for current projects being bid by the Architectural or Engineering Divisions of the City of Birmingham.

For all City projects, the Contract Work shall include all labor, materials and equipment necessary to complete all work as described within the bid documents. The bid documents include all drawings, specifications, and addenda issued prior to the bid date.Drawings and specifications are complimentary. Divisions and sections are arranged according to materials and functions and are not intended to be "trade" sections. The specifications establish construction and material standards as well as techniques and do not necessarily cover all specific items of materials shown on the drawings. Bidders shall examine the premises and satisfy themselves as to the existing conditions under which they will be obliged to operate in performing their work under the contract.No allowance will be made subsequently in this connection in behalf of the successful bidder for any error or negligence on his part.

Bid documents may be purchased from Alabama Graphics or Imaging Technologies in Birmingham, AL. Any cost for reproduction shall be the responsibility of bidders.

 

Learning Tree Park Renovation

Crossplex Street Improvements and Traffic Signal
This project is for Street and Traffic Signal Improvements at the Crossplex Entrance, Bessemer Road at Avenue W and Bessemer Road at Avenue X. These improvements will consist of: road widening; milling asphalt, curb and gutter, lane striping and traffic signal installation.

Harrison Park Renovation

The work will generally consist of renovations to Harrison Park.  Renovations shall include the removal of a portion of Steiner Avenue, the refurbishment of the existing sign and columns, the construction of a cul-de-sac and on-street parking at the new termination of Steiner Avenue, a walking trail, gazebo, a play structure and parking lot improvements, the installation of a storm drain, lighting and fencing, the painting of the exterior of the recreation center building and the replacement of the storefront for the recreation center building. All work shall be as defined on the drawings and in the specifications.

This project consists of street and drainage improvements along 35th Avenue W, 34th Avenue W, 33rd Avenue W, 5th and 6th Street W in Hooper City. The improvements will consist of road widening, installation of curb & gutter and drainage infrastructure.  Minor adjustments to Jefferson County's sanitary sewer system are part of this project.
