CITY COUNCIL

During the Birmingham City Council meeting Tuesday, July 20, 2010, Council:

1.Council approved a resolution authorizing the Mayor to enter into a construction agreement with the State of Alabama, acting by and through the Alabama Department of Transportation, for the Collegeville Pedestrian Bridge project. 2. “We will fight against this teen violence,” said Councilor Jay Roberson during an emotional plea. Roberson, reflecting on the recent murder of Devonterris Randall, 15, of Birmingham, called for a joint meeting between the Police Chiefs of Birmingham, Midfield, and Fairfield. 3. Birmingham City Councilor Valerie Abbott, District 3, is seeking to fill three (3) positions with the Birmingham Planning Commission.
