The Fire Prevention Division is comprised of several bureaus including Fire Prevention Inspections, Fire Investigations and Public Education.
Fire Prevention serves as a liaison between our department and the Birmingham Water Works, the City's Building and Planning Department, architects, contractors and business owners in order to meet the code requirements necessary to keep the citizens and fire service personnel safe.
The Birmingham Fire and Rescue Service Department's Fire Prevention Division collects, stores and analyses incident data. The information gained from this analysis is used to identify problems and design prevention and control programs for the City of Birmingham. |
